I am not a criminal!

Okay, so I’m being a wee bit dramatic to get your attention.

We need prayer. We need lots and lots of prayer that our criminal checks will get back to our agency soon. Unfortunately, I’ve lived in seven million different states and they have to hear back from each one. They are waiting on that paperwork before our home study will be complete.

Here’s the issue: We have a small window to get all our information to Haiti – a window that will prayerfully expedite our adoption. It would still take a few years, but it would be just a few years instead of even longer…

Once we get back our criminal checks, we have to get all our documents translated into French, then get them legalized at the consulate in Chicago – then hand deliver them to Haiti. All by November 1st.

And it’s already October 4th.

Please pray with us – that we would get everything completed and then safely deliver every single needed document to Haiti.

Your prayers a difference!

Thank you!!!!!

  5. Prayers coming from FL. God loves the orphan and wants the best for them. He loves you and Brian. So I reason, love for the orphans in Haiti plus love for Elsa and Brian =s quick results in the form of a miracle. Want a scientific formula? Os + E + B =’s MIRACLE!!

Love you and seriously am praying. Was just telling a social worker yesterday about you adopting from Haiti. She has worked with and is working right how with some kids from Haiti. The kids are in the Florida Baptist Children’s Home.

  7. I will certainly pray. I have to have criminal background checks done on my employees before they can work with my clients. I have to have it in hand. So I always tell the Family Care Safety Registry in Missouri which does the background checks that I need it tomorrow. If the person has had a recent check done, I get it immediately. In Missouri, you can call the Family Care Safety Registry and request your own background check (and tell them you need it by tomorrow). Once you do that, your ss# is registered and when anyone else requests a check it is sent out quickly. Maybe if you found out the entity like that in each state and did that you could expedite the checks. If you call the Missouri FCSR, you could maybe ask the like entities in the various states you need. Here is the phone # 1-866-422-6872. Here’s the url: http://health.mo.gov/safety/fcsr/

  10. Just remember, my friend, that God knows what is needed here and what it will take – a miracle – so leave it in His hands and may He give you peace during this process. God bless you and Brian for not giving up. Love you!

  11. I believe you will wrap your arms around those little cute boys for good in God’s timing and in His plan. I pray He gives you patience, strength for the journey and that your faith will become stronger than ever before. I also pray for the safety of your little guys as they wait to be brought to their new home. Breathe and believe, Girl!

  12. Philip 4:4-7- Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Elsa, please know I am praying for you and Brian and the boys and will ask God to keep you in His care continually. I love the verses above and hope you will hold those truths near to your hearts.
    In His Blessed Name, Donna
